As     the     new     clerk     of     Sterling     Township,     I     have     many     important responsibilities.    Having    been    the    finance    director    and    deputy-clerk    for twenty-two   years   I   am   familiar   with   most   of   the   duties.      Currently   I   am preparing    for    the    annual    town    meeting        and    compiling    the    report    for prevailing wage. A       n                 occur   on the   second   Tuesday   of   April   in   each   year   after   6   p.m.   This   meeting   is   held for   the   transaction   of   the   business   of   the   township.      Notice   is   given   by   the clerk    in    the    newspaper    as    to    the    time    and    place    of    the    meeting.        The agenda   is   adopted   by   the   Sterling   Township   Board   of   Trustees   ten   days before the Annual Town Meeting.  You are encouraged to attend. In    June,    townships    and    road    districts    adopt    the    annual    prevailing    wage ordinance   to   establish   the   applicable   rates   for   workers   in   the   area.   The Department    of    Labor    determines    prevailing    wages    by    county.        Sterling Township   will   adopt   their   ordinance   this   coming   June   and   once   adopted   it will be posted.
