Sterling Township was established in 1852. Sterling Township is committed to providing responsible, responsive, and effective services for our community. Sterling Township serves all residents with courtesy, dignity, and respect. We are dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of life for our residents and community.
The Township’s three main responsibilities include General Assistance, Property assessment, and the maintenance of roads. The Supervisor’s office administers the General and Emergency Assistance Program. In the Assessor’s office, you will be able to locate property information on township parcels, verify the accuracy of your property data, sign up for property tax relief exemptions, and find sales data. The Highway Commissioner maintains roads and culverts outside of the city limits.
You are invited to join the Sterling Township Board of Trustees for its regular meetings held on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, at 8:30am., at the Township Hall, 108 Fourth Avenue.
