Riverside Cemetery

Riverside Cemetery was established in the early 1800s as a burial grounds for the early settlers of Sterling. It is composed of several different cemeteries. The Sterling Cemetery Association was created on February 16, 1865. The cemetery was sold to Sterling Township in 1955 and renamed it Riverside Cemetery. The cemetery is 42 acres in size. 

General Information

Cemetery main gates open at 7am daily. Main gates will automatically lock at dusk. The 19th Ave. gate is locked at 3pm weekdays and closed on weekends and holidays.

$800 for each grave (does not include second interment fee)

$300 for Second Interment Right

Columbarium Prices

$550 per niche, One (1) inurnment per niche

$250 engraving (if paid to cemetery)

Niches are 12″H x 12″W x 12″D

ONLY 1 (ONE) INURNMENT PER NICHE PERMITTED

Mausoleum Prices

$550 per niche, Niches are 10 1/2″H x 9 1/2″W x 12″D

$300 for Second Interment Right

Opening Charges

Grave Opening (5′ level) – $800 *OVERTIME $1200 – **OT Plus $1600

Entombment – $350 *OVERTIME $525 – **OT Plus $700

Inurnment (urn only) – $400 *OVERTIME $600 – **OT Plus $800

Inurnment (urn vault) – $450 *OVERTIME $675 – **OT Plus $900

Double depth opening – We Do Not Offer

Baby on regular lot – $400

*OVERTIME CHARGES MONDAY THRU FRIDAY arriving on cemetery grounds after 2pm, or on Saturday any time before 12pm.

**OT Plus – Saturday after 12pm $1600 for full burial – $800 for cremation burial – and all Holiday Burials OT plus – New Years Day, MLK Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day. No burials on Sundays, Thanksgiving or Christmas 

Babyland space – $300 includes use of grave, Gr Op/Cl, small marker – size restrictions

There are no deeds issued with use of babyland lots
