Youth Center

Welcome to Elevate Youth Center! Since May 2024, we have offered a safe and fun environment for middle and high school students, with programs and activities designed to engage and inspire you. Students are invited to participate in programs offered by local agencies and businesses. These programs run from 4:30 to 5pm.

Our Mission: Elevate Youth Center will empower youth to thrive through responsible, responsive, and enriching programs, fostering a sense of belonging and respect within our community.

Closures

  • Weather: If Sterling Schools close due to weather, Elevate will also be closed. Check social media and KidCheck messages for updates.

After School Program

Our after school program will provide students with:

  • homework help
  • transportation (from Challand and Rock Falls middle schools to Elevate Monday-Thursday)
  • enrichment program
  • snack and evening meal (evening meal served Tuesday and Thursday at approximately 6pm)
  • weekly visit to the YMCA

The program begins immediately after school dismissal. Entry, activities and meals are free of charge.

Here’s what you need to know to get started:

Enrollment
  1. KidCheck Account (Free): Create a free KidCheck account online. This helps us keep track of student information and ensure safety. You can visit Elevate once without an account, but it’s required for continued participation.
  2. Enrollment and Code of Conduct Forms: Download and complete the enrollment and code of conduct forms (also available at the center). Both the student and a guardian must sign these forms. Return them to the youth director after your first visit. Pick up or drop off paperwork between 9am and 4pm Monday-Thursday, or during Elevate operating hours, as listed above.

Code of Conduct

Elevate welcomes all students regardless of race, color, religion, sexual orientation, etc. To participate, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a middle or high school student.
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct and respect staff and volunteers.
  • Maintain a safe environment for everyone.
Elevate Code of Conduct
  • Stay on designated areas of the property.
  • Be respectful and interact positively with staff, volunteers, and other students.
  • Be responsible and open to learning.
  • Respect Elevate’s property and the space of others.
  • This is a drug-free, weapon-free facility (including cigarettes and vapes).
  • Be kind and encouraging to others. Use appropriate language.
  • No running.
  • No physical or verbal aggression.
  • No sexual activity.
Program Policies
  • No alcohol, drugs, or stimulants.
  • No bullying, harassment, or fighting.
  • No swearing.
  • No running.
  • No displays of affection or sexual activity.
  • Respect staff and volunteers.

Failure to adhere to the Code of Conduct may result in suspension or exclusion from Elevate Youth Center programs.
